Designer or Dupe? After 10 years in retail, it’s a conversation I have heard over and over whether it’s handbags, clothing, or beauty products. However, after almost 9 years of marriage, even though I’m lucky enough to be married to a husband who is totally into me feeling my best he’s not in love with the idea of my using our entire savings to do so. LOL! I also know that everyone has their priorities when it comes to what they want to splurge or save on. So with that in mind, I decided to put together a list of my favorite beauty products and my favorite comparable dupes for them. I hope you find it helpful and if you have any awesome products or dupes you love be sure to let me know! Sharing is Caring! You can also shop any of these products by clicking on their names highlighted in blue or the "Shop My Post" lineup at the bottom of the post.

Dry Shampoo

  • Designer-
    • Living Proof: Perfect Hair Day- At $24 This is not a cheap dry shampoo but what I love about it is that it makes my hair feel clean as if I have showered. I also love the smell and volume it gives to my hair so when it goes on sale I do love to splurge.

Living Proof - Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo 4 oz Allure Best of Beauty Seal

  • Dupe-
    • Batiste- Coming in at under $6 I am a die-hard fan of this dry-shampoo and the Bare bottle is my favorite purely for the smell! It may not feel like I showered but honestly, it gives me the same volume and keeps me and my budget happy. So it’s usually my go-to between the 2.

Foundation

  • Designer-
    • Clinique: Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer- A combo foundation + concealer that takes 2 products and has me only using one. It’s a clean product that is also buildable with its coverage. It’s $29 at most locations and I would honestly pay $40 for the quality of it’s 2 for 1 product value.

  • Dupe-
    • L’Oreal: True Match- I tend to have this one hand in a pinch. It has good coverage and a variety of shade options which I love. It’s under $10 and for that fact is a great option but between these two I would say for me it’s worth the splurge.

Eyeshadow Palette

  • Designer-
    • Urban Decay: Reloaded- This palette is pure gold! I love the whole Naked series from Urban Decay and this one is the best yet. It’s $44 normally but it comes with 12 colors in one palette I use it every day and it actually lasts a while too.

  • Dupe-
    • Milani: Stellar Lights Palette- I just found this thanks to Jen Reed from The Sister Studio of IG and it’s a great option with colors I already use pretty much every day at under $11 on Amazon so in this case, it’s totally your call. I have both LOL.

Mascara

  • Designer-
    • IT Cosmetics: Superhero Volumizing Mascara- I have worn this for the last 4 years and it is the beginning, end, and forever with me when it comes to Mascara. End of Story. It’s $24 full price and I gladly pay it each time.

  • Dupe-
    • L’Oreal- Voluminous Original Mascara- Always a staple in my makeup bag since the beginning of my relationship with makeup. It’s under $9 & can be found anywhere and although it’s not a substitute for the Superhero it’s a great second choice.

Eyelash Primer

  • Designer-
    • Marc Jacobs: Velvet Primer- I never knew I needed eyelash primer and now that I use it I just don’t want to wear my mascara without it. At $26 you’re getting a great product but for a secondary, to my IT mascara, I don’t always feel it’s a must-splurge item.

  • Dupe-
    • L’Oreal: Voluminous Last Primer- For under $9 this is the clear winner for me in this case and I think works just as well. But it’s again totally up to you when it comes what you want to splurge or save on.
